Sangito Bigelow, multi-instrumentalist, Stick Together artist/facilitator
Experience
Sangito Bigelow is a young Vancouver based musician and visual artist. He specializes in Zimbabwean Marimba as well as Afro-cuban and West African hand percussion. His band “Kutapira” features all of these styles intelligently selected and seamlessly blended into one fusion for which he composes and arranges many songs. He is a lyricist and front man in several groups and most recently a student of Jazz guitar at VCC. His newest project “Los Duendes” is a Latin Psych Fusion group that mixes the Roots of Chicha with Latin Jazz and Latin House. With the bravado of bold colours born of a graffiti practice and a conversation with design through his music, Sangito’s Artwork is as current as his latest infusion of youthful exuberance. Pop and street- visual savvy, brings the advantage of a cultural upbringing to the forefront in his work.
